Tri-Level, Revisited
A new central hearth room helps unify the disparate pieces of a
stock "tried-but-tired" tri-level. This vaulted room now opens to
the dining and kitchen areas, while a relocated front door now
becomes a useful entry, close to the driveway and with quick access
to the mud- and powder-rooms. Extra space in the garage is borrowed
to create a much-needed kitchen pantry, and the master bedroom
finally gets its own bath. A built-in desk off the dining area
creates a computer/homework alcove for the kids.
