Facelift Adds Age

This pudgy, plain home was dressed in Arts & Crafts cottage fashion with cedar shingles, a "slimming" bay window with a gabled top, pergola over the garage door, and lots of details to catch the eye. A new potting shed under a deep overhang is convenient to the garden areas. The living room also gets its own trompe l'oeil "bank" of windows and corner pergola- it also lights her writing desk inside. And a new, curving brick front walk bordered in lush plantings welcomes passersby.

Now they love to pull into the driveway!
