Brick Box Gets a Break

This simple box is "broken" first with a rear addition which embraces the pool deck. It houses an open, efficient and light-filled kitchen, and a master suite with its own outdoor garden. The newly-vaulted living and dining areas shed their walls as well, and the front door gets its own foyer, lit by a dormer above. A new covered porch with generous steps and a gable roof over the main space give the home character. Raising the roof in this central section and accenting with stone complete the look of a cozy bungalow that has grown over many years.
