Bling for a Basic Bath

More storage was urgently needed, and a greater feeling of space for this dated, stock 5'x8' bath. The new Lyptus wood linen cabinet is bumped into the next-door garage (over a freezer!), and the room's ceiling is arch-vaulted. Painted wood paneling wraps the room, including the door and the front of the existing tub; the sink cabinet is replaced with a pedestal- these help expand the space visually. The floor is dressed up with herringbone-patterned marble and a slate "fringe". Polished nickel fittings provide extra sparkle.

The owner is delighted that guests now refer to it as the "Jewel Box".
