Flow, the Ace of Spaces
A kitchen update can be
a great time to fix basic flow problems. Here, a vague foyer was
defined, and a too-large opening to the family areas- a highway from
front door to breakfast table- was diminished. A large arched
opening now draws you into the living room. The long path across the
living to the dining was removed and a fireplace added, allowing a
new cozy seating group with focal point. The relocated dining is now
the hub of a bright and airy circulation core, enabling more glass
to the backyard. The new kitchen has a more functional layout, with
extra storage and breakfast island. The owners say their home is now
ideal for hosting frequent get-togethers.
